Easy Beef & Broccoli Lo Mein

Makes 6 Servings

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces uncooked pasta
  • 1 teaspoon dark sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger (peeled)
  • 1 ½ cups sliced onion
  • 3 cups chopped broccoli
  • 1 pound flank steak, trimmed, cut across the grain into long, thin strips
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chile paste
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce

Directions

  1. Prepare pasta according to package directions, omitting any oil and salt; drain. Drizzle pasta with sesame oil then toss to coat.
  2. While pasta is cooking, heat peanut oil in a large nonstick skillet set over medium-high heat. Add garlic and ginger to skillet, sauté for 30 seconds. Add onion and broccoli to skillet, sauté for 3 minutes. Add steak to skillet, sauté for 5 minutes or until desired degree of doneness is reached. Add pasta, soy sauce, chile paste, brown sugar, and oyster sauce to skillet; cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly, until noodles are heated through.
