Since 1984, when Jerry and Connie Ridley opened their first store in Payson, Utah, Ridley’s has been dedicated to serving communities with a simple goal—to be the friendliest grocery store in town.
What started as a single hometown market has grown into a family of stores across Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana, offering grocery, pharmacy, hardware, quick service restaurants, fuel, and more. As we’ve grown, one thing hasn’t changed: our commitment to the communities we call home.
We believe in supporting local schools, organizations, and families, and in creating stores where neighbors are welcomed by name and treated with care. Our team members are part of the communities they serve—neighbors taking care of neighbors.

Timeline
1984
Jerry Ridley leaves Safeway as a Store manager to purchase first small store in Payson, Utah
1986
Jerry and Connie build and run a Food-4-Less in Provo, Utah.
1988
Jerry and Connie make a key decision to sell and relocate to Idaho, buying three former Farmer Jack stores (Jerome, Gooding and Rupert, ID)
1990’s
Ridley’s expands to serve more communities throughout Idaho including Boise, Buhl, Emmett, Jerome, Middleton, Pocatello and Weiser
2004
Ridley’s expands outside of Idaho for the first time opening their store in Tremonton Utah
2005
Ridley’s introduces their first loyalty program with the introduction of the Advantage card, a program that becomes the R Perks Program our guests love today
Ridley’s opens up their first hardware store in Hyrum Utah
2007
Ridley’s expands into Nevada for the first time with their first store in Ely, Nevada
2008
Ridley’s expands to Wyoming for the first time when opening their store in Pinedale Wyoming
2012
Ridley’s opens their 20th store when they open their store in….. Highland, Utah
2014
Ridley’s family has more than 1,000 team members for the first time
Ridley’s opens up their first quick service restaurant when opening a Dairy Queen in Eagle Mountain Utah
2015
Ridley’s opens their first store in Colorado with the opening of their Wellington and Gypsum Stores
2022
Ridley’s team has more than 2,000 members for the first time
2023
Ridley’s opens their first Montana Store in Gardiner
2025
Ridley’s expanded further into Nevada with the acquisition of the Khoury’s Fresh Market stores in Carlin, Spring Creek (2), and Winnemucca
2026
Ridley’s expands into Central Utah with the acquisition of Terrel’s Markets located in Fillmore, Gunnison, Nephi, Mt. Pleasant, Santaquin and Payson.
