Ridley's Scholarship Promise Program

Ridley’s realizes that the education of our children benefits the whole community of which we are a part. It is because of this that Ridley’s has always tried to support our local public & private schools as well as other youth oriented programs through our Home Town Advantage Program. Ridley’s also offers the Scholarship Advantage Program to help families further their children’s educational opportunities.

Ridley’s Scholarship Advantage Program works by taking a percentage of each purchase you make at Ridley’s Family Markets and putting it into an account that your child can use to pay for their college tuition. The program is designed for younger students or children with several years left before attending college. Children must be at or under 10 years of age at time of sign up to qualify for this program. The account can be used by the student until the age of 25.

How to Redeem Your Scholarship Money

As soon as your child starts attending college, they can simply submit a copy of their first semesters tuition bill. They will receive a check from Ridley’s reimbursing them for 1/8 of their total account balance up to the full tuition amount owed. The next semester they will receive a check for 1/7 of their total account balance up to the full tuition amount and so on for a full 8 semesters worth of payments. The program is designed this way so it will help with payments throughout a typical 4-year college degree.

The scholarship money in t heir account will be used to help fund scholarship programs for other students at Ridley’s discretion. ** Ridley’s reserves the right to cancel this program at any time without notice ** All funds in any accounts are the property of Ridley’s Food Corp. until the time they are paid to the student ** Note: Children must be at or under 10 years of age at time of sign up to qualify for this program
Do I have to use the money in my child’s account for that child only?
Yes, the money in every child’s account is for the use by that student only. Payment will only be made if the full name and social security number on the tuition bill and Scholarship Program match exactly.
How long is the fund available for my child to use?
Payments are available out of the fund until the child is 25.
Can I continue to use the Scholarship Advantage Program after the initial 4 years (8 semesters) if my child continues their education?
Yes, the fund will be emptied when we pay the 8th semester payment, but you can continue to use the program and receive the full amount paid back at the end of each subsequent semester.
What can the Scholarship account be used to pay for?
The Ridley’s Scholarship Advantage account is designed to pay for tuition. This is the only school expense item that the Scholarship account will reimburse the student for.
If my child’s college uses trimesters, can they make withdrawals 3 times a year?
Yes, if the college your child attends uses something other than the traditional 2-semester year, we will arrange the withdraws to coincide. For example, in the case of a trimester, the student would receive 3 payments for 4 years, for a total of 12 payments. The first payment would be 1/12 of the total account balance, the second would be 1/11 and so on.
Can I have more than one family support my child?
Yes, if a child’s parents and grandparents for example want to support a child, this will let the child earn money in their scholarship account twice as fast.
Can I sign up to support a child that is not my own?
Yes, many grandparents like to sign up to earn money for their grandchildren. All you need is their required information on the Scholarship Program transfer form when you donate your points.
I have more than 1 child, can I sign them all up for the program?
Yes, you can donate your points to whichever child you choose, whenever you like.
