Stir-Fried Cabbage

Makes 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1/4 C chili-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. Splenda
  • 2 tsp. toasted sesame oil
  • 2 T soy sauce
  • 2 T peanut oil
  • 1 head (about 1 lb) Chinese cabbage, coarsely chopped
  • 2 tsp. rice vinegar

Directions

  1. In a small dish, mix together the chili-garlic paste, salt, Splenda, toasted sesame oil and soy sauce; set by the stove.
  2. In a wok or huge skillet over highest heat, heat the peanut oil. Add the chopped cabbage and start stir-frying. After about a minute, add the seasoning mixture; keep stir-frying until the cabbage just starts to wilt - you want it still crispy in most places.
  3. Sprinkle in the rice vinegar, stir once more and serve.

Note: Look for chili-garlic paste, rice vinegar and sesame oil in your supermarket's Asian foods aisle.
