Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 12 ounce package fresh or frozen cranberries, rinsed and drained
  • Optional:
  • Zest of 1/2 orange
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Instructions
  • Bring water and sugar to a boil in heavy saucepan. Add cranberries and return the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and boil gently for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the berries begin to pop. Remove from heat and, if desired, gently fold in zest and cinnamon. Transfer the sauce to its serving dish to cool to room temperature.

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425/a=*. Cut each Yam lengthwise into 8 wedges. You may need to halve especially long wedges crosswise. Brush each wedge with olive oil. In a large bowl, toss with sugar, chili powder, cumin, salt and pepper.
  2. Place wedges on a baking sheet and roast until browned and tender /c,C ,Aeu about 15-20 minutes.
